Alvaro Arbeloa, a former Spanish international footballer, has been appointed as the manager of Real Madrid's reserve team, Castilla. He replaces Raul Gonzalez in this role. Arbeloa, 42, had a successful playing career, earning 56 caps for Spain and winning several notable titles, including the 2010 World Cup and two European Championships. He also won a LaLiga title and two Champions League crowns during his time at Real Madrid.

After retiring from football in 2017, Arbeloa returned to Real Madrid in 2020 to coach the under-14 team. Two years later, he took over as manager of the under-19 team.

Castilla, the reserve team of Real Madrid, currently competes in Spain's third-tier league, Primera Federación. In the 2024/25 season, they finished sixth in the league, narrowly missing the promotion playoffs.
